51%

of Russians believe that technology negatively affects live communication

Even more — about 70% — think that people are dependent on technology, reports HSE ISSEK based on the results of an online survey of 3,000 internet users aged 14 and over.

Social and psychological attitudes affect the desire to use new technologies at home and at work. Russia’s technology readiness index (TRI) is moderate: anti-tech views are not common, but there is a low motivation to apply innovations and a mistrust of technology.

* TRI (technology readiness Index) is calculated according to four sub-indexes: judgment of the innovativeness of new technologies, appreciation of their role (optimism), mistrust of them, discomfort when using them. The variables of the index are assessed on a scale of 1 (low manifestation) to 5 (high manifestation).
